The Story
17 years ago, when I was 19, I went to an Irish pub with a few friends after a band practice to have another pint. We had our guitars with us and after a few drinks we asked the bartender if he could turn the music off. We unpacked our guitars and started playing acoustically, singing and stomping on the wooden floor.
The other guests turned to us and celebrated the spontaneous session. One guest made a phone call and told his buddy that he should definitely come over because "they" were playing live music here. The bartender told us that the pub closes at 1 o'clock.
We played until 6 o'clock in the morning...
On the way home, I decided that I absolutely had to do that again. Since that night in 2008 I started playing in Irish Pubs.
Live At The Irish Pub
Saturday evening, a creaky old wooden floor, dark beer, relaxed conversation.
The week was exhausting, but now it's time to relax. Bruce Springsteen, Simon & Garfunkel as a warm-up.
All the songs you know. Galway Girl, off to Ireland. In the 2nd set from Bon Jovi to SWEEEEET CAROLINE and over the Country Roads into the Summer of '69.
A heartbreaker is a must in the 3rd set and you can always rely on an emotionally charged "When You Say Nothing At All".
